Warhammer Underworlds
(Not Quite) Round Robin Tournament

Hello! We know that all of you have been patiently waiting to get your Games Workshop models back to the table and with Multnomah County’s recent change to Moderate Risk Level, we are happy to announce that we are ready to resume some in store play! As you’ll see below, we’re starting with a small, cautious step.

Introduction

Each week the sixteen players will play one best-of-three match against a different opponent. After four weeks a winner of the tournament will be named. As this is meant to be a fun, casual tournament, the prize will be raffled off with all players receiving one ticket for entering the tournament, an additional ticket for the overall winner and one more for the player with the best painted warband (voted on by the Guardian Games staff).

Tournament Rules

There will be two tables in the store designated for this tournament and will be available each weeknight (Mon – Fri) from 5-8pm for your scheduled matches. We ask that you do not sign up for this tournament if you don’t have good flexibility to accommodate this schedule. Please play your match game only – no other gaming will be allowed at this time even if you finish early.

We will be using a shared Google Sheets document to coordinate table/match sign-ups each week. This will be on a first come-first served basis. Choose a day and enter your name in one of the two available spots per table. If there was already a player there and you haven’t already played one another this tournament then great, your matchup is complete and you’re ready to go. If there isn’t a player there then standby one will arrive shortly!

For each match you will need one Warband from any Warhammer Underworlds set, WU dice and tokens. You will also need two game boards and a constructed deck of cards that both fall within the Championship Format Rules linked below. You may change your warband and your deck as often as you’d like between matches (i.e. you may not make changes during a match) and we encourage you to explore and experiment! Note: you are not required to have painted models but you must use official Games Workshop Warhammer Underworld warbands.

Cost for the tournament is $5 and includes one ticket for the prize raffle as well as a 15% discount on Warhammer Underworld products for the duration of the tournament (four weeks). Sign up for the tournament starting Monday March 8th. You can stop in or call the shop to purchase your ticket. Play will begin the week of March 22nd.

Official GW Championship Format Rules can be found here and they are the rules we are using for game play: https://warhammerunderworlds.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2020/12/mYT0q6y1WXsunetC.pdf
